Makelsan supplied Ups Systems to secure power for Egyptian National Railways. Egyptian National Railway is one of the largest economic institutions in Egypt and the Arab world, and is the largest in the area of transport services (passengers and goods). It's considered the backbone of passenger transport in Egypt, where the volume of railway passengers and goods transport is: Passengers transport: 500 million passengers annually and 6 million tons annually.

ENR - Egypt National Railways Restructuring Project is fundamentally intended to modernize the signaling systems on the Beni Suef - Asyut route in Egypt and covers the supply and installation of a new signalling systems over a 250 Km railway. Makelsan awarded contract to provide backup power to the signalling systems to be upgraded by ALSTOM, world leader in Rail Traffic Management System. Alstom will ensure safety for passengers while increasing the number of trains in circulation on the network by more than 80%.

For the project worth 100 million and financed by the World Bank , Makelsan provided 78 units of LevelUps Series UPS systems ranging from 10 kVA up to 80 kVA in order to ensure the safety of all critical equipments within the railway stations. The UPS systems will secure necessary backup power for signaling and renewing electrification of stations throughout Beni Suef - Asyut railway networks. Product manufacturing and full factory witness tests were completed sucessfully. All items were delivered within time frames.
